Hello there, I'm Liv.
Some of you I know already, and some may be new, so welcome all! I run an at-home bakery from my kitchen, specializing in macarons, and always gluten free. Going off of gluten over a decade ago stretched my imagination and my pastry skills, until one recipe after another, I began to develop bakery items that I could once again be truly proud of. Since no gluten or dairy ever comes into my kitchen, each item has to be carefully adapted to bring out all the flavor and nostalgia, without those pesky allergens.
When family members and friends began to ask for my recipes and confections, regardless of whether they had any of my food-restrictions, I knew I was on to something. Then, on a trip to Paris, I tried french macarons for the first time.
I was enchanted.
And so I set myself the task of learning to make them myself, no gluten, and no dairy. After a few unruly attempts, (and some reworking of my recipe after a move) I developed a routine that popped out delicate, picturesque macarons (almost) every time.
The actual idea of opening this bakery was born while prepping hundreds of little pink and yellow macarons for my grandmother's birthday party. I thought, why not make these for other families? Other birthdays and events? Not being in every baker's repertoire, it gave me a niche to start in, and it wasn't long before I was asked about my other baked goods too.
And so from french macarons to birthday cakes, from cupcakes and scones to cookies and more, this little bakery took off.
